George Lipimile
Senior Adviser, UNCTAD

George Lipimile is currently the Senior Adviser, UNCTAD. He established the Competition Authority in Zambia, and is the former Executive Director of Zambia Competition Commission. He has been instrumental in development and implementation of competition laws and policies in member countries of COMESA and SADC, and continues to assist UNCTAD and WTO in their technical assistance programmes aimed at establishing Competition Authorities in various developing and least developed countries. Being a legal expert in Intellectual Property Law and Corporate Law, he continues to advise the Government on matters pertaining to International Trade Law and Investment. He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree (BA) and a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of Zambia, and his Master of Science in Intellectual Property Law from Queen Mary and Westfield College, London
