Gesner Oliveira is a Professor of Economics at Fundação Getúlio Vargas (São Paulo) and holds a PhD in Economics from the University of California, USA. He has served as a consultant for various government and international orgainsations on competition policy and regulation. His previous positions include being the CEO of Sabesp – Companhia de Saneamento Básico do Estado de São Paulo (2007-10), one of the largest water companies in the world; visiting scholar at Columbia University (2006); President of CADE, the federal antitrust authority (1996-2000).
