CUTS Centre for Investment & Economic Regulation is organising a Round table “Sustainable 24*7 Power to Consumers: Integral Role of Consumer Participation in Electricity Regulatory Process” to be held on Wednesday, 11th February, 2015 at Lecture Room-1 Annexe, IIC, New Delhi. The meeting timings would be from 0900hrs to 1430hrs followed by lunch.
CUTS implemented a project to assess the quality and impact of consumer participation in the process of Electricity sector regulation in five states (Rajasthan, Haryana, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Delhi) under the EA 2003. Furthermore, a research has been undertaken to develop a methodology to strengthen consumer participation in the regulatory process and to recommend a need for amendment or revision in specific section to encourage effective consumer participation.
The purpose of the meeting is to disseminate the findings of the study conducted by CUTS. The idea is to bring together the policy makers, government officials, regulators and consumers representatives, etc. and debate the findings of the study while discoursing the way forward as well.
