CUTS International along with Bask Research Foundation is implementing a project on “Promoting Quality Education through Clean Energy Access: A Dual Approach to Rural Development”. The project is supported by HT Parekh Foundation. The project is conceptualized on the premise that there exists a direct correlation between access to energy and quality education at schools based in rural areas. The key objective of the project is to promote quality education through solar energy solution. As per the implementation strategy, solar rooftops are installed at five schools in Chittorgarh district. These solar rooftops are aimed at providing energy supply to basic classroom infrastructure and a Smart TV for facilitating quality education in the schools. Chittorgarh is identified specifically as a target district for this project given that it is one of the most backward districts in India.
