Gujarat

Objective

The objective of the survey is to derive a comprehensive and updated status of awareness of consumer groups regarding issues related to demand side management and renewable energy. One of the key issues to be analysed is to determine the acceptance among stakeholders to pay an extra amount to get access to clean energy. The sample size of 500 stakeholders comprising civil society organisations (CSOs), industrial units, government organisations, commercial establishments, farmers and household consumers would be surveyed and the data analysed in four districts of Gujarat.

Methodology

The survey would be administered based on a structured questionnaire with support of ten local CSOs spread across four districts of Gujarat. The questionnaire was developed taking inputs from project partners, project advisory committee members, etc.

Before the commencement of the survey, Vikram Sarabhai Centre for Development Interaction (VIKSAT), our partner in Gujarat, will organise a training workshop with the surveyors, local partners etc. in order to familiarise them with the questionnaire and provide survey techniques, etc. During the workshop, relevant inputs from local partners and surveyors will be taken into consideration to finalise the questionnaire.

VIKSAT representatives including the project implementation team would also be present from time to time in the districts to monitor the survey. Analysis of the surveyed data would be captured in form of a state level paper.
