GRASSROOTS INTERFACE MEETINGS – PHASE I

Grassroots Interface Meetings (GIMs) are to be organised in two phases. The agenda of the meetings are to reach out to relevant stakeholders such as consumers, farmers, commercial users, distribution companies, etc at the grassroots level and make them aware of the role they need to play in regulatory reforms in the electricity sector and to transfer key advocacy skills to them.

During the first phase of the GIMs, information was disseminated to relevant stakeholders on the present scenario of electricity regulatory reforms and efforts were made to register their problems, needs and challenges.

The first phase of the GIMs was conducted during the period November 2008 to January 2009 in all the respective project territories: Bangladesh, Nepal and India (Rajasthan and West Bengal).
