CUTS Centre for Competition, Investment & Economic Regulation (CUTS CCIER) and CUTS Calcutta Resource Centre (CUTS-CRC) organised a five day State Level Training Workshop in Kolkata, West Bengal from March 13 to March 17, 2012
The purpose of the workshop was to build capacity and awareness among representatives of consumer organisations regarding issues pertaining to DSM/RE. As an outcome of the workshop, a cadre of consumer organisations have been created who are in a position to better comprehend issues and be able to advocate the need for DSM/RE and also build capacity of other consumer groups at their own community level.
Representative from local level CSOs participated in the workshop. Experts and practitioners on energy issues provided training on various elements of climate change, clean energy, importance of consumer participation, etc, to the participants, combining theoretical knowledge with hands on group exercises.
